A promising central defender he signed professional terms with United in August 1998. He made 11 appearances for the Reserves last season, as well as 16 for the Under-19s, scoring one goal for each team.
O'Shea made his first team debut in the 1998/99 season, away to Aston Villa in the Worthington Cup defeat.
He joined Second Division Bournemouth on loan in January 2000, and made his League debut for the Cherries against Colchester United. He is currently back in the United reserves once more.
