Career History
Quinton Fortune bravely left his home in South Africa at the age of 14 to try his luck abroad. His search for success took him to Tottenham Hotspur. His stay at Spurs as a junior did not transform into a senior career, and he moved on to Atletico Madrid. Playing for their 'B' team, he was noticed by the South African national manager, and was given his debut against Kenya in September 1996. Since then, he has played in the World Cup for his country, and made three appearances at France '98.

Recent History
With plenty of pace, natural balance and good ball skills Quinton Fortune was a promising star in his first United season. Scoring twice in the Maracana in the World Club Championship and Premiership goals against Bradford and Middlesbrough he showed that he had an eye for goals. His performance on the left wing away to Valencia was very impressive and he has every chance of a bright future at United. Fortune's 2000-2001 season was heavily disrupted by International duty with South Africa's Olympics and World Cup Qualifying, although he still managed two goals in the Premiership at Old Trafford against Bradford.
